Har-Lynn Farms provides lay-up and retirement services that are geared toward horses coming from the competitive worlds of horse racing, eventing, show jumping and dressage. Full veterinary care, including diagnostic, surgical care, chiropractic and dental, are available within 20 minutes of the farm at Rhinebeck Equine Veterinary Hospital.

Lay-up care is tailored to fit the needs of each horse based on the instructions from owners, veterinarians and farriers and, if necessary, can include limited turnout, hand-walking or stall rest. The farm works closely with farriers and veterinary staff to return horses to full health so they can resume their competitive careers.

For older horses and those unable to return to competition, Har-Lynn Farms offers an affordable retirement program. The retirement program is designed for horses that have spent most of their lives as competitors and have become accustomed to daily attention. Many of these horses don't do well in retirement when tossed in a field and left. Our retirement program provides such horses with the regular care and grooming they expect to receive.

For those horses still capable of light riding, owners are welcome to visit them and either ride about the ring or head out for a ride through the beautiful surrounding countryside. The farm has awesome views of the Catskill Mountains and you can even take a ride down the road to a local historic inn for a drinks or a scrumptious meal. We'll probably even join you.
